Kelly Chong – Korea University, South Korea

‘I am absolutely grateful to be able to spend a fruitful semester at Korea University, South Korea in the midst of the pandemic.

The university is located in Seoul, which is also the capital and largest metropolis of the country with 25 million people in the area. I would say Seoul is the perfect combination of modern culture and traditions. It is an interesting, economically developed and safe city that you would never get bored living in it.

As an exchange student in South Korea, I got to interact with students from all over the world, such as United States, Australia, Mexico, Italy and more. I slowly realized how big the cultural difference is between Eastern and Western countries and the importance of intercultural communication.

During the past four months, there were lots of challenges and adversities. Nonetheless, this exchange has been a precious and wonderful experience for me to widen my horizon, meet people from all around the world, not only to learn more about the country but also myself.

Lastly, I would like to strongly recommend everyone who is reading this to grasp the given opportunity to make the most of the whole experience and not to be afraid to constantly challenge yourself.’
