‘During the summer of my senior year (from June to August 2022), I spent 10 weeks with Credit Suisse Group as an investment banking summer analyst, where I kick-started my career in the investment banking field and had a tremendous time with my fellow summer analysts and seniors. The internship provided a great opportunity for me to gain insights on how an investment bank acts as a sell-side advisory on a deal, as I was exposed into different tasks ranging from building decks for pitching purposes, working on models for live deal valuation, as well as teaser and information memorandum drafting for M&A transactions.

Having to participate on a live US$35m M&A deal for an Indian mechanical component manufacturer throughout the 10 weeks, I worked with my seniors with the transaction all the way from pitching the buy-side investors, to the non-binding initial offer round, and to the investor’s due diligence investigation. My engagement on the deal was extremely fruitful as I started from scratch on building all sorts of presentation materials such as teasers, information memorandum, company profile and funding round details. I also assisted my seniors in conducting comparable company analysis, industry forecast slides, potential investors due diligence etc.

Aside of the project with the M&A team, I also supported other teams such as TMT, Financial Sponsors, Healthcare, and Industrial Renewables, which broaden my scope on different industries and allowed me to gain in-depth knowledge on what deals they are involved on.

I am extremely thankful and grateful for the opportunity to work at Credit Suisse, getting to know my peers and spending time together outside work on intern events such as boat party, hiking, karaoke etc. has made us close, which is also my favourite part of the internship. I believe the skills and knowledge I acquired throughout the internship helps build a strong foundation on my future career as a detailed-minded, reliable and goal-oriented professional.’
