‘Over the second half of 2021, I had the privilege to intern at a hedge fund in South Korea, which specializes in long/short equities, IPOs, private capital, and other strategies. I was positioned in the equity investment team, where it was responsible for researching public and private companies that the firm can invest in. 

My role had three parts, first was to provide operational support to the equity research team, including fund performance, market updates and any ad-hoc duties. Second, I was involved in some of research processes of IPOs and conducted stock pitches. Lastly, I was also tasked to automate various daily tasks using python.

The overall experience taught me the necessary soft and hard skills required to work as an investment analyst. Having had various internship roles in other asset management firms, this experience solidified my resolve to pursue a career as an investment analyst.’
