‘During the summer of 2024, I was fortunate to spend the break as an Intern at Workiva Hong Kong Limited. Workiva is a global software-as-a-service company providing a cloud-based reporting platform for various fields – including financial reporting, governance, risk, compliance (GRC), and environmental, social, and governance (ESG).

During the internship, I was exposed to the company’s platform, Wdesk. I took part in numerous meaningful projects and contributed mainly to implementing the software for clients’ and partners’ needs via product documentation. Moreover, I also assisted Workiva’s project manager in handling the resource forecasting project. Throughout this experience, not only I am exposed to the technical skills of the platform, but I also enhanced my soft skills, such as problem-solving, communication, and design thinking.

The GLEF major program has offered me with abundance of resources during the job-hunting process, whether it is to help me find one or give me feedback on my resume. There are a lot of resources that I can use provided by the university which can help me build my future career. This internship opened my perspective to a new field and gave me a memorable experience. Thank you to all the people and parties that helped me nurture in the industry.’
