“In the first term of 2017 I was offered an internship with the Valuation Team of Deals Advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers. My employment period started on 4th July, 2016 and ended on 16th  December, 2016. This half-year journey with Valuation Team is fruitful and rewarding.

During my internship, I was given the chance to involve in multiple tasks, which were related to the valuation of different financial assets. I frequently encountered the use of different valuation models, and have learned a lot about industry knowledge especially during deals-related projects. This experience not only enhance my technical skills such as the knowledge in accounting and finance and the use of computer software systems, but also let me know more about the business nature as well and the typical job responsibilities in Valuation Team.

I have been able to apply my textbook knowledge I acquired from the courses in university. Apart from that, I have learned more practical ways to deal with real-life problems. It was wonderful to experience the company culture and learn from colleagues who were knowledgeable in this expertise.

GLEF provides ample resources to support students to develop skill sets that are practical in business, as well as many chances to participate in internship. At the same time, I believe that GLEF program can strengthen our students’ abilities by designing courses which are more related to real-life challenges. With the willingness to learn and the right attitude, students will be able to further develop their skills and progress in their career in the future.”
