“I have the chance to participate the Exchange Program and had went to San Diego State University (SDSU) to study for a semester. The culture of SDSU is very different from that of CUHK. They emphasized more on extra-curricular activities, based more on project-based assignments and students were very attentive and inquisitive. I have also made a lot of friends from joining events held by the international student society and doing projects with my classmates. We would go out to the beach, enjoy the peaceful blue sky in San Diego and share each other funny culture shocks stories etc.
In addition, I also treasured this opportunity and travelled around the west coast in the US and also visited parts of South America. During my exchange period, I have been to around 20 cities in 5 countries to visit various spectacular sceneries, for instance, La jolla beach, Big Sur and Machu Picchu. Moreover, I have done a lot of “first-time activities”: Skydiving, paragliding, hiking up a 4000m above-sea-level mountain, Six-Flag Magic mountain and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu. In short, work hard and play harder.”
