‘During my 2023 summer, I had the privilege of joining Nuveen Hong Kong Limited, an American asset management firm, as an intern. This invaluable experience allowed me to develop essential skills, gain industry exposure, and better understand my career aspirations.

I was tasked with conducting comprehensive competitor research and analysis across three key Asia-Pacific markets. I delved competitors' marketing strategies, product offerings, and target client segments to gain insights and provide strategic recommendations for enhancing Nuveen's market positioning. The research project not only enhanced problem-solving skills, but also my industry knowledge, particularly in sustainable investing and real assets.

While the internship presented several challenges, the strong sense of the company's inclusive and supportive work environment had better supported my learning experience. With extensive support and training to its interns, including a comprehensive orientation program, personal and professional development trainings, mentoring opportunities, and volunteering events, Nuveen hoped to interns to equip with the necessary skills and experiences to thrive in their future careers after the completion of internship.

In addition, the networking opportunity was enlightening to meet industry professionals across the globe. My colleagues are generous to share their personal experience in the industry and provided insightful advice on my career choices. This invaluable experience could only be gained through immersion in a real-life workplace.’
