‘I joined a 6-month placement at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Industrial Fund Management in Hong Kong, interning in the investment research department. This journey has taught me not only the technical skills that are crucial for day-to-day private equity operation, but also the soft skills along the way to find and excel a professional work.
With a global mindset, I have been trained to view micro investment opportunities with broadened considerations, maintain the principle while there are no explicit instructions on what you can do and how to prepare, as well as self-navigation without a clear schedule.
Additionally, the specially designed GLEF courses, with a focus on global mindset and economic perspectives, helped to a great extent in the way to integrate knowledge learnt in class into real life. Aside from this glimpse of the industry, I have also received valuable advice from seniors who have been through a similar process, shadowing by the program’s efforts.
Lastly, the internship is a great platform for us to practice the knowledge we have learned in class in a real workplace.’
