Sarah Kim – Seone Public Accounting

“During the summer of 2019, I participated in an internship programme at Seone established by two experienced Korean accountants few years ago.

The atmosphere of the office depends on the season, especially issuance of tax returns and different business year ends.

Among all the valuable experiences, my first audit project, training sessions and audit on site have been the most memorable ones throughout the programme.

Despite a lack of diversity and other benefits that large enterprises could provide, working at a growing company has provided me with an opportunity to participate in a broad range of projects and put me into an impactful position so that I can be continuously motivated for self-development.

The GLEF program has equipped me with not only the preliminary quantitative expertise in financial modelling and valuation techniques but also the ability to grasp financial rationales which proved to be very helpful during my internship.

Christina Fung - Tencent

“During the internship, I participated in the project management work of several projects, including Tencent's collaboration with Adidas and Coca Cola, which were the two largest promotional campaigns of Tencent in Hong Kong throughout the year.

My job also involved a lot research and analysis.

This internship experience was really an intensive training which had trained up my practical skills at work, and it was also an unforgettable, useful and fun work experience which I was very grateful that I had the chance to work there.

GLEF has prepared me for stepping into the business world both academically and practically.

GLEF provided students with a comprehensive training in the gaining of economics and finance knowledge, for example statistical analysis, market analysis, financial management, etc., which are essential and applicable to real life businesses and future career.

Jackie Tu – Commerzbank

“Internship is one of the key components of GLEF program.

I worked in Commerzbank AG, the second largest bank in Germany, as a Debt Capital Market intern from June to December 2018. Debt Capital Market division is often less-known among university students; yet, it is one of the fastest growing team across investment banks in Hong Kong.

Through this internship, I have learned to combine the knowledge I have learned from school with the practical experiences in the financial industry.

GLEF is a very small program with roughly 30 students.
