“After completing my exchange program in 2016-2017 Term 2, I immediately joined UBS AG as their summer intern in Group Operations.
During the internship, I was given an ample amount of work within my team such that I could be really involved with the team and the firm, as well as learn the most – technically and personally – out of those ten weeks.
From this internship, and based on what I have learnt from the GLEF curriculum, I gained much greater understanding of the global financial markets, as I had had hands-on experience in dealing with the real-life operation of the banking industry, and also the opportunity to work with teams from various regions over the world.
"I joined the Cross Cultural Internship Program (CCIP) in my year 1 summer, worked for an NGO called Hong Kong Association of New York (HKANY) which is located inside Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, in New York.
“I have interned at Hang Seng Bank in Insurance Business Finance Department (ISF) for 11 months. During this 11-month internship, I was responsible for the managerial reporting for manufacturing and Hang Seng’s insurance distribution business, and also monthly forecast for the overall insurance business performance. This sounding internship equipped me with the analytical and quantitative skills required in the banking industry.
“In summer of 2017, I had a chance to work in the equity research department in China International Capital Corporation (CICC).
During my internship, I was involved in several different tasks.
For one, I am able to translate skills and projects experience I grabbed in class into the workplace.
In my undergraduate study, I am glad that I have a wonderful combination of academic and industry experience, which certainly help me to make a clear decision for my short term and long term career.
