Jovanovick Luidaniel – A50 Capital Partners

“I joined an eight-week internship serving as a Private Equity Intern at a Hong Kong-based Alternative Real Estate Investment specialist, A50 Capital Partners Limited.

The first week was packed with lessons on commercial real estate, including but not limited: (1) The distinction between commercial and residential real estate (2) Commercial real estate asset classes (3) Elements of commercial leases (4) Replacement cost (5) Highest and best use (6) Deal states.

The GLEF program has equipped me with not only the preliminary quantitative expertise in financial modelling and valuation techniques but also the ability to grasp financial rationales which proved to be very helpful during my internship.

GLEF has been nothing short of my expectations, the program is competitive and rewarding.”

Natalie Chiu – JBA Capital Management

“I undertook a two-month internship as an Equity Research Intern at JBA Capital, a small-size hedge fund based in Taiwan.

During the two-month internship, I had completed eight equity reports in total.

I feel that during the internship, I was treated like a regular employee in JBA.

The internship enables me to assure my interest towards the equity market and finds lots of aspects that really attract me.

Thanks a lot to JBA, though it is a small company, I gained a lot of practical experience, formed close relationship with the company and be more certain about the future career that I would like to develop.

Majoring in GLEF leads me to learn a great deal about how money works, and about financial instruments, stocks, bonds, markets, how macroeconomics and microeconomics work.

4 years in GLEF has been an exceptional journey beyond my imagination.

One of the most things that I admired is that GLEF does not aim to train students to merely expertise in finance yet upon that, to equip students to have the ability to think logically and critically independently.

Tiffany Chau – Point72

“In the summer of 2019, I took part in a memorable and fruitful 10 weeks internship program in Point72, an asset management company.

I worked as an operation intern with a team of 4.

During my internship period, besides the daily routine work and ad-hoc tasks, I also carried out a project related to Corporate Actions.

Apart from work, I enjoyed a variety of activities organized by the HR team and developed a strong bonding with interns from different departments.

The most fulfilling part as an operation intern is that when you are able to understand the full picture, you would be able to realize every step you take and every button you press makes a difference.

The internship journey changed my working attitude.

I am thankful that GLEF provides us with the resources conducive to securing the offer for Point72.

Without help from GLEF the program, I would not be able to get the offer from Point72 and enjoyed a fruitful journey.”

Christina Fung - Tencent

“During the internship, I participated in the project management work of several projects, including Tencent's collaboration with Adidas and Coca Cola, which were the two largest promotional campaigns of Tencent in Hong Kong throughout the year.

My job also involved a lot research and analysis.

This internship experience was really an intensive training which had trained up my practical skills at work, and it was also an unforgettable, useful and fun work experience which I was very grateful that I had the chance to work there.

GLEF has prepared me for stepping into the business world both academically and practically.

GLEF provided students with a comprehensive training in the gaining of economics and finance knowledge, for example statistical analysis, market analysis, financial management, etc., which are essential and applicable to real life businesses and future career.

Bonnie Chang – Citi

“Last summer, I worked in Citibank as a global consumer banking (GCB) summer analyst for 10 weeks.

It kicked off with a 1.5-day orientation with over 100 interns across different divisions.

I joined the customer acquisition team under the Segment department of GCB division.

What was notable was that Citi organized different workshops for interns to interact with senior management teams and also the head of consumer banking, Mr.

I believe an internship is a golden opportunity for students to tap into the real business world to gain first-hand experience of a particular company as well as the nature of the industry.

On the whole, I am very positive towards the GLEF program.

All in all, I believe the support given to students in this program is enough to help students academically and with their future career development.”
