‘Over the second half of 2021, I had the privilege to intern at a hedge fund in South Korea, which specializes in long/short equities, IPOs, private capital, and other strategies.
My role had three parts, first was to provide operational support to the equity research team, including fund performance, market updates and any ad-hoc duties.
The overall experience taught me the necessary soft and hard skills required to work as an investment analyst.

Tangent Ng – HKEX

‘In 2021 summer, I participated an 8-week internship programme in HKEX.
HKEX played a multifarious role in financial market that it act as a market regulator, market operator in clearing and settlement services and at the same time, it is a listed company in Hong Kong.
Through assisting team’s daily operations and their on-going projects, I learned more about credit rating and performed risk analysis.
The programme has also arranged us different workshops to broaden our horizons by giving us more exposure to other branches work.
Working as an intern has a really steep learning curve that you could apply the knowledge learned at class into practice in the meanwhile you can learn some skillsets that do not appear in textbook. 

HKEX is a great place with incredible people, the seniors and management trainees are very nice and welcoming so I enjoyed my journey as an intern in HKEX.’
